Pervez Mody

Pervez Mody is a maestro concert pianist known for his intense and thrilling performances delivering a rainbow of emotions to his audience. Born in Mumbai and now living in Germany was an exceptionally gifted child and began learning the piano at the age of four with Feroza Dubash Labonne and Farida Dubash in India, teachers who profoundly influenced his musical interpretations and his understanding of Western classical music. Even in his youth he won a record number of competitions, prizes and distinctions and was in great demand as a concert performer. He then won a scholarship to study at the famous Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow with Professor Margarita Fyodorova, who introduced him to the works of Alexander Scriabin and predicted in her letter of recommendation: "Pervez Mody is a talented young pianist with a bright future ahead."

 

Pervez is a highly decorated pianist with numerous prizes, distinctions, and honours to his name. Chief among them was the scholarship he was awarded to study at the prestigious and exclusive Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow with Professor Margarita Fyodorova, who had predicted his inevitable success very early on. After his brilliant graduating from Moscow with a "Master of Fine Arts" with the highest distinctions in solo performance, chamber music and Lied accompaniment, he undertook further studies -again with a scholarship- with Prof. Fanny Solter and Prof. Miguel Proenca at the Karlsruhe University of Music and gained the highest distinctions in both his postgraduate studies and his performance diploma. Pervez Mody has participated in master classes with Prof. Sontraud Speidel and Prof. Eduardo Hubert.

 

He has taken up invitations to be a jury member at the "International Piano Competition" in Huesca (Spain) and has conducted master classes in Germany, Argentina, and India. Pervez is still active in the piano-violin chamber music format "Duo Appassionata". He is known for his spirited and thrilling performances with deep emotions and individual access to music. He enjoys a big reputation on the concert circuit and participated in "Martha Argerich & Friends" and Martha Argerich certified: "He is an extraordinary musician and performing artist of a very unique kind. I was fascinated by his powerful emotions... it was an unforgettable experience!". An exemplary musician and performing artiste, Pervez has been a Steinway Artist since 2012 frequently touring the world as a concert pianist to Europe, Asia, North, and South America.
